During the second Sino-Japanese war spanning the years preceeding World War II, Imperial Japan implemented Unit 731, a human experimentation facility. The subjects of said experiments were imprisoned Chinese civilians and combatants. Along with the aforementioned experimentation, subjects were tortured and raped by those Japanese working at the facility. Among those who had been both tested on and abriped was Qimei Zou, the thenrecent spouse of a socially shy Chinese militant known only as "Shi." Shi's cognition, while objectively perverse, is considered to be sui generis by his peers, and is often consulted to solve peculiar problems which have no clear, intuitive solution.
